These details explain how we arrange services at San Diego Jewelry Buyers (SDJB), 907 Sixth Avenue, San Diego, CA 92101. For help with your item, contact info@sd-jb.com or (619) 236-9603.

Evaluations and offers

An online inquiry starts a conversation. SDJB examines the actual item before making a final buying offer. Identity, materials, condition, authenticity and market demand affect the result. Item acceptance and amounts are assessed individually; examples of makers or item types are not a promise to buy every piece.

A purchase evaluation is different from a formal insurance, tax or probate appraisal. Existing reports and appraisals can help identify your piece, but their values do not establish a buying offer or loan amount. Tell us about lab-grown stones, treatments, repairs or modifications you know about.

Handbag authentication

SDJB offers free verbal evaluations for purchase and loan inquiries. Its published policy allows authentication fees for an unidentified or non-authentic result only when disclosed, discussed and agreed before authentication. Ask the team which process and fees apply before work begins.

Before shipping valuables

Speak with SDJB before packing or sending items. An inquiry does not create a shipping label, mail-in kit or insurance agreement. Confirm the destination, packing, carrier, coverage limits and exclusions, receipt process, evaluation, return arrangements and payment method with the team.

Keep your items with you until arrangements are agreed. Do not send identity documents, payment-card numbers or account details through the inquiry form.

Visits and ownership documents

Bring your pieces, valid government-issued photo ID and any records you already have. If you are acting for someone else or handling estate property, ask which ownership or authority documents are needed. Sending an inquiry does not book an appointment; finish the calendar steps to book your time. Saturday visits are by confirmed appointment.

Repairs and custom work

Discuss the work, estimate and expected timing with SDJB before proceeding. An inquiry is not a repair estimate or a confirmed completion date. For custom jewelry, agree on the design, scope, price and schedule with the team before work begins.

Borrowing against an item

For collateral custody, loan costs, repayment and missed-payment information, see our loan information.
